Abstract： Reactive powder concrete is a kind of new construction material. It has been applied in practice. In this paper the performance characteristics of reactive powder concrete are simply introduced， at the same time， the feasibility of reactive powder concrete applying to telegraph pole is mainly discussed. The whole structural design process of a mon concrete telegraph pole and a telegraph pole which is made of reactive powder concrete is done according to China existing criterion。The finite element analysis software ANSYS is used to analyze and calculate the two kinds of concrete telegraph poles whose cross sections are orbicular. Global cylindrical coordinate systems are adopted and the material nonlinear is also taken into account during the course of the ANSYS finite element analysis， count models are two cantilever beams on the condition that they withstand the same design load， concrete element solid65 is used in the modeling， bar element link8 is used in prestressed steel. Then the model of telegraph poles is meshed， loaded and in the end count solutions are output. Some concrete data is gained such as deflection， weight of the telegraph poles， maximal stress of steel bar and concrete， steel content of the two different concrete telegraph poles. The data parison has been analyzed， the result obviously indicates that the telegraph pole that is made of reactive powder concrete is superior to the mon concrete telegraph pole in some aspects by the analysis and parison of the last data. As far as the application of project is concerned， this will have definite referenced value.
